Nigerian Meat pie

Meat pie is a Nigerian snack 
 give it a try today and enjoy...
Things you need: for the dough
plain flour 1kg
baking powder (optional i do not use it sometimes)
butter
pinch of salt
1 cup of water (depending on the size it could be 1/2).
3 Irish potatoes (optional and depending on the number)
1 medium sized onion
1 cup of sunflower oil
spices (optional)
pinch of salt
minced meat
carrot
green beans
1 egg ( ornamental: to rub on the meat pie before baking).
For the meat pie dough:
turn the flour in a bowl, add baking powder (optional) and pinch of salt. mix them together, add butter and mix well and finally water. mix well (knead) until dough becomes soft and smooth.

For the filling:

wash and peel the potatoes and place on the stove to cook. Then wash, clean and cut the carrot, onions and green beans into any shape you desire. place a frying pan on the stove, add sunflower oil add vegetables and spice it. Take down add sunflower oil add minced meat fry well on low heat spice up, add salt, when ready add vegetables and potatoes cover and allow to cook for 15 minutes. When its cooked, to make the filling tick put flour in a small bowl add water and include in the mixture allow to cook for 5 minutes then take down.

  The making:

preheat the oven and continue with the meat pie. Take a little from the ready made dough knead take a rolling pin and roll out; to achieve the meat pie shape take a plate or any object with the perfect shape, shape the dough after rolling take some filling and place in the centre of the shaped out dough, cover it over use a folk to close up the edges and place in a baking pan (continue the process until all the dough is filled up).
With the help of a kitchen brush, polish the meat pie using the egg, then place it in the oven and allow to cook, when it is ready the meat pie would be golden brown as seen in the picture bellow. Serve hot and enjoy.
